Osteria IL Centro

The concept for Kansas City’s Osteria IL Centro (meeting place at the center) originated from small, local restaurants scattered throughout the Mediterranean. For centuries, neighborhood folks have met in these establishments to enjoy wine from the hillsides and freshly made cuisine in a casual atmosphere. This type of ambience is found at 51st and Main Street (South Plaza). The upscale-casual, Italian bistro yokes 3 1/2 star dining with a Wine Spectator "Best of Award of Excellence," and friendly service to form an artistic, and candlelit atmosphere for its patrons. It’s where "Garlic is the Catsup," and reservations are not accepted. 1,100-bottle reserve list, and 45 by the glass. Accommodations for parties/special events for up to 110. Voted by Zagat’s as "Best Restaurant Value" in Kansas City, and by locals as the "great place for a date." The Osteria does not accept reservations, except on New Year's and Valentine's Day.
