Get ready to experience a star-spangled spectacle as the Historic West Bottoms gears up for a post-Independence Day bash during the First Friday Weekend, July 5-7. Themed Boom in the Bottoms, this event promises to keep the patriotic spirit soaring high.The West Bottoms is known for its rich history, boasting majestic 19th-century multistory buildings that now house charming retail stores. These shops are stocked with unique, limited-quantity items, each carrying its own tale — from décor and furnishings to apparel. As shoppers explore the 13 blocks of the Historic 12th Street Bridge West Bottoms District, the air will resonate with the sounds of patriotic melodies. Speakers will blast beloved tunes, while live musicians, including horn players and a grand piano, add to the festive atmosphere.

The West Bottoms district spokesperson, Amber Arnett-Bequeaith, shared, “Shop owners in the district go all out with patriotic themes, creating a special ambiance. We’ve added photo ops, and the Full Moon bars outside are perfect for quenching any thirst.”

West Bottoms’ Shopping: Embracing the Festival of the Full Moon Weekends' theme, Boom in the Bottoms runs from July 5-7. Shops will be open Friday through Sunday, with most opening at 9 AM, closing around 6 PM on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 12-4 PM. Live Music: Enjoy the tunes of Anthony Perkins performing on an All-Keyed Up Piano outside at 13th and Hickory from 12-3 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Lucky Dog 13 Rescue: On Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM, visit Lucky Dog 13 Rescue to view and potentially adopt dogs needing their forever homes.

Food & Drink: Satisfy your cravings with food trucks and various on-site vendors, including the Full Moon Street Bar, Chef J BBQ, Java Garage, Bella Patina’s 3rd Floor Painted Rooster Café, and West Bottoms Whiskey.
